|Consul General Fei Mingxing Joins Premier Zikalala in Meeting with Dongguan Delegation|
On 2nd July 2019, Consul General Fei Mingxing joined the Premier of KwaZulu Natal Mr. Sihle Zikalala in his meeting with Mr. Yang Xiaotang, Member of Standing Committee and Director for Publicity Department of Dongguan at the Hilton Hotel in Durban. Ms Nomusa Dube-Mncube, MEC for Economic Development, Tourism and Environmental Affairs and Councillor Fawzia Peer, Acting Mayor of the eThekwini Municipality were also present.
The Premier warmly welcomed the Dongguan delegation to KwaZulu Natal, spoke high of the friendship between South Africa and China and mutually beneficial cooperation between KZN and Guangdong Province. He said that he had visited Dongguan twice, being deeply impressed by its achievements in economic development and governance, and believing that the two sides have great potential for cooperation in economic, trade, tourism and other fields. He highlighted the rich tourism resources of KZN and the relevant policies and measures adopted by the provincial government to attract foreign tourists. He expressed high expectation of the agreement between KZN Tourism and China Comfort Tourism Group.
Yang Xiaotang thanked the Premier for meeting with the delegation and briefed on the development of Dongguan City. He said, in the context of the Sino-South African relations and the "Belt and Road" initiative, Dongguan and KZN have good prospects for cooperation. The Dongguan Municipal Government will continue to support and participate in the cooperation between China and South Africa and between Guangdong Province and KZN Province in tourism and other fields and look forward to closer relations between Dongguan and Durban.
Fei Mingxing congratulated KZN and Dongguan on their ever closer relations and hoped that KZN Tourism and China Comfort Tourism Group actively implement their agreement toward tangible win-win results.
During the meeting, KZN Tourism and China Comfort Tourism Group signed a Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement covering cooperation in tourism promotion, exchanges and services.
